My name is Bella Thomas. I am an acrylic and oil painter from the small town of Wellfleet, Massachusetts. I studied mathematics at Smith College with a minor in Studio Arts. I specialize in portraiture, using a mix of realism and abstraction to represent people I know well. In my most recent series, "Resemblance to Actual Persons", I explore themes of childhood and the preservation of memory through shrines. I am currently interested in the Filipina artist Pacita Abad and her use of textile, quilting, and mixed media in her work.
